Is it mandatory that I need to inform the bank if I am travelling outside UAE and intend to use my Credit or Debit card?

It is not mandatory to inform the bank if you are travelling outside UAE and intend to use your card. However, we strongly advise to keep your registered mobile number active even when you travel abroad to ensure you receive SMS alerts for every transaction on your card. We will continue to monitor your card for any unusual transactions whilst you're abroad. We'll contact you if we detect unusual activity. If you keep your mobile phone with you, you'll be able to confirm genuine transactions as soon as we contact you.
